Why do I now get two copies of PM? July 28, 2010 Leaky Bucket (Boston) Gee, I believe that I placed my first order with Amazon, so when I did the renewal I expected they would not run concurrently.
Wrong Recipient July 25, 2010 Carolyn Engstrom I ordered this magazine as a gift and entered the address to which gift was to be sent. The first issue arrived at MY address....I contacted the magazine and hope to goodness the error has been corrected. I've had no correspondence telling if it has or hasn't I doubt I'll order magazines thru Amazon again.
Excellent deal for an extremely interesting magazine! July 25, 2010 DeeVee79 (SF Bay Area) Wait around for a 2-year special deal on these magazines! I've been reading this mag in the library ever since I was a little kid, and now I'm actually subscribed to it for a small fraction of its retail price...very nice! Popular Mechanics is very similar to Popular Science; however, I'd choose PM over PS if I had the choice between the two.
Excellent Mag, especially for innovative or DIY men July 24, 2010 Dmitriy Zasyatkin (Atlanta, GA) If you are guy who likes technology, tools, adventuring or building stuff, then you should definitely subscribe to Popular Mechanics. It will definitely entertain, inform and inspire some DIY!
Could be more practical, Room for improvement July 21, 2010 jp (ga) Jay Leno's column is cool but it is in every other issue, not monthly. I agree that PM gives a good overview of tech stuff and its great to have the advice columns for us home and auto owners. I find, though, the mag is too technical at times- it echoes the all too common tendency of many companies to focus on features and not on ease of use or simplicity of the product. Tech for its own sake, in other words. They often write about "fantasy inventions"- things that would not work in the real world, e.g an underwater house- how would you deal w/barnacles? They also make a big deal over "patriotic" events which seem too bureacratic to be in this mag. I don't buy this mag to read about a festival honoring veterans, even though I appreciate vets.
