Product Description
Remember the twin golden rules of hitchhiking?
# 1: Don't go hitchhiking, because the driver who picks you up could be certifiably crazy.
# 2: Don't pick up hitchhikers, because the traveler you pick up could be raving nutcase.
So what if, on some dark, isolated road, Crazy #1 offered a ride to Nutcase #2?

When two of the most twisted minds in the world of horror fiction face off, the result is SERIAL, a terrifying tale of hitchhiking gone terribly wrong. Like a deeply twisted version of an "After School Special," SERIAL is the single most persuasive public service announcement on the hazards of free car rides. Beyond a thrilling piece of horrifying suspense, SERIAL is also a groundbreaking experiment in literary collaboration. Kilborn wrote the first part. Crouch wrote the second. And they wrote the third together over email in 100-word exchanges, not aware of each other's opening section. All bets were off, and may the best psycho win. (edited by author)

Very short story. I thought it would be suspensful but was disappointed! Don't waste your time.

Jack Kilborn AKA J.A. Konrath is one of my favorite authors. When I noticed he had a new book out that happened to be a FREE internet short story I had to have it. I downloaded it immediately.

Jack collaborated with Blake Crouch and came up with this disturbing short story. About a man who picks up hitchhikers and murders them as well as a hitchhiker that goes around hitching rides and gruesomely murdering her drivers.

It's disturbing and gruesome and amazing. How they created this is beyond me. It's really a good book. Well written and surprising to the end.

I must say though, it's not for those with a weak stomach. SO beware.

5 out of 5 stars was very good and creepy   April 7, 2010

just the tag lines describe how this book was: kindle freebie, suspense, murder, horror, kindle, psychopaths, serial killer, freebie, scary. was excellent for a freebie from kindle and was very graphic. not a book for those who are insulted by racy humor or sexual innuendos.

3 out of 5 stars Wish I Would Have Know It Was A Short Story   April 7, 2010

Well, my title says it all. The story itself was good and I would have loved more of it. But I read it in like 10-20 minutes and I wish it said that in the description. That way I wouldn't have had my hopes so high.
